K3300F ‘B’ Product crystal damage.
BMA Crystal Deflector Plate results
In our last Newsletter we confirmed the installation of two K3300F machines with Crystal Deflector plates to reduce the amount of crystal breakage to allow better sized crystal to be used as footing.
Test carried out on ‘C’ product in Australia with the crystal deflector K3300F machine indicated a crystal breakage of 1,5% by weight and only a 20% damage to large crystals.
We can now confirm that the machines on ‘B’ product have met our expectations with the following results supplied by the mill. Please contact us for more details.
Cimex Engineering
Moving forward and upwards.
With Cimex now going into its seventh month of operation it’s time to reflect on its performance.
Taking the first three months as moving and re-strategizing, we only need to look at the company’s operations for the last four months which shows the beginnings of a stable company in its field of operations.
Although financial stability is a must, the one challenge we faced in the beginning was the tenure in the company which we have overcome creating individual responsibility and ownership of all staff.
Clients that were lost during the moving period are now returning, not only in the sugar industry but in the shipping, road transport and wood industries, to whom Cimex can offer services.
We look forward to this Off Crop and next year to strengthen our position in the market.
New Positions at Sucrotech
Moving to suit the time.
In keeping with our commitment to BMA, to our Affirmative action plan, and to the changes in our market with Cimex becoming part of our Group we have made the below changes in the organisation structure.
With the market change in the Sugar Industry together with the forming of Cimex Eng, the Sucrotech Group now needs a stronger focus on Sales and Marketing. Clayton Chinneck, Works Manager with 8 years technical experience at Sucrotech together with the full knowledge of sugar separation has now taken up the position of Sales and Marketing Manager for the Group
With a maturing directorship within the Group, it is now time to train up and to handover the reigns of the company’s commercial operation, seamlessly, for the continuous support of the industry into the future. Genevieve Elliott, with a strong leadership has been positioned in into the role of Captain in Training (CIT) for the Commercial Director’s chair. Coming into her third year of CIT training, clients will find that Gen is becoming more involved in the day-to-day activities and direct contact with the mills.
At BMA safety always comes first
Not all are made equal.
Comparing equipment of any make, be it a toaster, a car, or a centrifugal is not as straight forward as it seems. The machines may look the same but it’s what’s inside that makes the difference for long trouble-free running.
One of the main features of the BMA centrifugals is the safety around all instrumentation and operational programming, think of it as a car with…
Forward collision warning. Adaptive cruise control.
Lane-keeping assist. Automatic emergency braking.
a bit more expensive but keeps you traveling on the road without incidents.
In a nutshell if your machine is not ‘safety designed’ and programmed for all operational eventualities all in accordance with Risk Analysis assessment 2006/42/EG, or similar, and you don’t have full regenerative braking going back into the grid, your machine and you could be at risk.
SASTA 2024
Is it value for money.
SASTA hosted its 96th annual event at the Durban ICC, with this year being one of the biggest events yet, hosting attendee delegates and congress exhibitors from both the agricultural sector as well as the Factory sector.
Not only was Sucrotech able to have a stand at yet another SASTA event, but this year we were able to introduce Cimex Engineering, a subsidiary to Sucrotech, who were able to showcase their Expert Machining and Fabrication Services that they can offer to the sugar industry in both the front and back end of a factory.
Within our stand we had BMA Germany, with Irma Geyer, BMA’s Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing there to answer any questions one may have had, as well as Dr OP Thaval, BMA’s Senior Process Engineer, who had also given a presentation at the event on the BMA Vertical Continuous Vacuum Pans for high and low-grade massecuites in cane sugar factories.
Fontaine® & Co. GmbH, also from Germany, had the privilege of joining us within our stand to showcase the screen technology that they have to offer the sugar industry.
Overall, with the opportunity to be able to exchange scientific knowledge and build on to existing relationships between customer, agent, and supplier, to interact face to face and gain potential leads, projects, and new contacts within the industry, as well as having received positive feedback from many, SASTA would most certainly be considered value for money.
